Howdy everyone! Recently, folks affiliated with ThecePlay reached out and asked if I’d help come up with a gaming challenge for their new promotion. After a grueling five minute chit-chat, it was decided that a points challenge on classic Street Fighter II would be a great fit. A points challenge is easily scalable, and old school SF2 is accessible on like every platform this side of Doom. (We did expand it to Champion Edition to include you Genesis / Mega Drive folks, who we love every bit as much as our Super Nintendo friends.)
Basically, score as many points as you can in your first three matches of a run, with no continues or two-player or any of that. Yes, tie rounds are a thing, and if you can figure out a way to tie on command (especially on original SF2), maybe you can break this challenge wide open. Otherwise, just press dem points! Console and emulation are allowed, per standard TGSAP rules. The challenge is open now, and runs through October 21st:

lol No but seriously, check it out! First, it’s just a fun challenge in its own right, in the spirit of all our PPMDC bounty challenges. As usual, I don’t get paid for this bullshit. So you should just play for the fun of it! And second, there are actual prizes this time! It just so happens that if you rank in the top 4, you win… shoes? Of some sort? Do people still wear those? It’s like 2024, shouldn’t we all be flying around in rocket socks or something? Sorry, I am literally the last person to ask about trending shoes, lol.
