I once played a calendar-accurate 162-game season of Griffey baseball on SNES (part 1)

While it’s admittedly fun talking about video gaming controversies, you know what else is fun? Actually playing video games!! Today I’d like to share the story of the time I played a full 162-game season of Ken Griffey Jr. Presents Major League Baseball for Super Nintendo. While that may not be that special in and of itself, I took the added step of playing the entire season over the course of six months, accurate to the daily calendar in the SNES game.

May Day update: Billy Mitchell versus Twin Galaxies

Happy May Day everyone! Want to know what’s going on in the Billy Mitchell versus Twin Galaxies court case? Of course you do! These things have a tendency to move at a snail’s pace, but we actually have some recent developments to cover, including a big, fat, stinking L that just dropped on Billy’s attorneys. Let’s get to it!

The evidence is back!

Great news for non-cheaters: The evidence against Billy Mitchell is back!! Relive all your favorite hits, like the rivet ramp, the board swap, rotated screens, the infamous MTV interview, unicorn boards, “recreated” scores that don’t add up, submissions that weren’t submissions but actually were, crowds of disappearing witnesses, Walter Day lying under oath, Dwayne Richard in a TARDIS, and of course the one-and-only MAME girder finger himself.

In memory of JC Harrist

We are saddened tonight to report the passing of a highly respected and beloved member of the classic arcade community. Jeff Harrist, better known as “JC”, passed away this weekend. He was 53.

New interview with Robert Mruczek

I recently had the privilege to catch up once again with former Twin Galaxies head referee Robert Mruczek. Our topics included Billy Mitchell’s ridiculous court cases, Walter Day, Brian Kuh, Roy Shildt, and of course, Robert’s recollection of watching Billy’s Pac-Man tape from 1999.
